We
successfully engineered, supplied and commissioned a complete automation and
process-control system for a Pit-Type Gas Nitriding Furnace, developed for
demanding Aerospace & Defence heat-treatment applications.
The
system was designed to provide precise control of three independent temperature
zones and KN potential, together with continuous H₂ analysis and comprehensive
process data recording.
The Challenge
Aerospace
heat-treatment processes demand a high level of process consistency,
repeatability, monitoring and traceability.
The
Pit-Type Gas Nitriding Furnace required an integrated control system capable of
simultaneously managing:

The

3-Zone
Temperature Control
The
furnace is equipped with three independently controlled temperature zones,
enabling accurate temperature management and improved process uniformity
throughout the working zone.
KN
Potential Control
The
automation system continuously monitors the nitriding atmosphere and manages
the process to maintain the required KN potential, supporting consistent and
repeatable nitriding conditions.
KN
/ H₂ Analysis
A
dedicated KN / H₂ Analyzer Panel, supplied by our sister concern Eurosense
Analyticals Pvt. Ltd., provides continuous atmosphere measurement.
The
analyser data is integrated with the automation system to support accurate KN
potential management.
